Winter Basketball League

 

 

 

Entry Fee is $500 per team. Entry fee is due no later than Friday, November 17th at 3:45 p.m. Check is payable to the JAFFA ATHLETIC CLUB Mail or hand-deliver to the Jaffa Shrine Center, 2200 Broad Ave Altoona, PA. 16601. Schedules will be e-mailed to your team’s Captain. Your team captain has the responsibility to inform team players. If you need hard copies, you can request them by calling 814-944-4043.

  1. The League structure and number of playoff teams will be determined after registration closes.
  2. Ties for playoff positions are decided by head-to-head competition and point differential.
  3. In the event of cancellations. A make-up schedule will be e-mailed to your team’s coach. TEAM COACHES are responsible for informing team members of changes in schedules.
  4. . Games will be played at JAFFA SHRINE CENTER.
  5.  Each roster is limited to 15 players.
  6.  AWARDS
  7. All players, on the original roster of the winning team, win a team trophy.
  8. Time-outs: two per half will be given, and remaining time-outs cannot be carried over to the second half. One time out is awarded for each overtime period.
  9. With five personal fouls, a player is out of the game.
  10. Seven team fouls result in one-plus-one. With 10 team fouls, 2 shots are awarded.
  11. If you are fouled on a three-point shot attempt, the player will receive three free throws.
  12. Fighting between players will result in expulsion from the contest and will receive a two-game suspension.
  13. Change of possession after initial jump ball.
  14. All teams must have numbered uniforms, or the game will be forfeited.
  15. Coaches are responsible for number changes taking place. Make sure the scorekeeper is made aware before the start of the game.
  16. No jewelry will be permitted during play.
  17. NO Dunking in this league.

Games will consist of two twenty-minute halves. The clock runs the first 18 minutes of each half and will be stopped for violations the last two minutes of each half. If the game is tied after regulation play, three-minute overtime will be played. The clock will run for the first minute and will be stopped for violations in the last two minutes.
